Outside of Office Hours

Outside of our office hours, call OptionLine's confidential 24/7 phone line at (800) 395-4357. They will be happy to make an appointment for you at our clinic. Simply let the operator know that you're in Ann Arbor and would like an appointment at ArborVitae Women's Center.

Outside office hours, you are also welcome to submit an online request for appointment. Email us at appointment@arborwoman.com or call at (734) 994-8863 to leave a message.

We'll return your call or e-mail as soon as we can. Because we respect your need for privacy, we will not leave a message unless you specifically authorize us. Our phone number will come up "unlisted" on your caller ID, so please answer "unlisted" numbers because it may be ArborVitae calling back to schedule your appointment.

Walk-Ins are more than welcome, so please stop by now if you are in the area during our open hours. View our location and text it to your phone.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

We have free WiFi for you, although we hope not to make you wait, so feel free to bring your laptop. Your pregnancy test requires a full bladder, so we also offer free beverages to our guests; however, you may want to drink some water before you arrive.

Visits at ArborVitae usually last 45 mins. to an hour, although if you have a full ultrasound scan and wish to speak at length with one of our consultants, your visit may be longer -- it's up to you.

Most of the women who come to pregnancy clinics have negative pregnancy tests. However, if your pregnancy test is positive and you seem to be at least 6 weeks along and otherwise healthy, our nurse will offer you an ultrasound. You may schedule your ultrasound at a later date. If your ultrasound is immediate, however, you will probably have an abdominal scan (where the ultrasound probe is passed over your belly, requiring only that your shirt be pulled up) and, if you agree, our nurse will probably do a vaginal scan. This scan, which gives a much clearer picture for 1st trimester pregnancies, requires that you disrobe from the waist down. The nurse will protect your privacy with a drape. You will probably feel more comfortable during this scan if you have taken a thorough shower the day of your appointment.
